Introducing Aurifil Colour Builders, a capsule of twelve curated mini-collections inspired by (and named after) Italy’s most vibrant and colourful destinations. Each collection contains three large spools of 50wt thread — a warm, a medium, and a dark — within the location’s primary colour palette.
From the lemon groves of Sicily to the pink sand beaches of Sardinia to the clear teal waters of Capri to the stark city grey of Milan… each collection is crafted to evoke images of Aurifil’s beloved Italian landscape. Aurifil 50wt Thread – Aurifil’s 50wt thread is the most versatile and most popular 100% Cotton thread. It is available in 270 different colours, and is wound on Aurifil’s iconic orange spool. The 50wt is strong and thin, and results in remarkably flat and crisp seams. While it is wonderful for piecing, subtle quilting & topstitching, and English Paper Piecing it also works incredibly well for Needle Turn Applique, Bobbin and Machine Lace, Machine Applique (Straight Stitch, ZigZag, Blind Hem and Blanket Stitch,) Machine Embroidery, Dense Machine Quilting, Subtle Machine and Longarm Quilting, Basting, Whole Cloth and Micro Quilting, and Dense Background Designs.
